Eliza Cook, English poet and journalist. Cook began publishing her poetry in the 1830's, and in 1849 she started a weekly magazine directed at working class women, called Eliza Cook's Journal. Holograph poem signed : (MISC 1614) : 16 lines, untitled; begins, "The wail of regret, the [mere?] clashing of Strife...".
